How to simulate any type of cable & noise with the LSX 2030.

The programmable Sparnex Instruments Physical Layer platform can be configured with:

  • all cables and noises as specified in a Standard.
Multiple Standards can be loaded and executed on the same test platform.  Please refer to the Standards for more details.
  • custom cables which are not in the Standards.
These cables can be purchased as a Software library and loaded in the memory of the Simulation Platform.  The programming and loading of such 'non-standard' lines is a matter of seconds.  Please refer to the LSX 2030 EP for more details.
  • a selection from a list of 'measured' cables from different countries and networks.
These measurements are part of the Sparnex Instruments database of Loopgrabber™ and Noisegrabber™ libraries.
  • actual lines and loop types.
These are measured with the ICXACT in the access network, buildings and homes - converted into Sparnex Instruments compatible simulation files that accurately reproduce the measured cables and noises. Sparnex Instrument designed the ICXACT for that specific purpose.
  • specific noises/disturbers.
Noise impairments are also configurable and can then be loaded into the (optionally) integrated Noise Generator in the Line Simulator, once the line types and loops of the Physical Layer are correctly setup.  This is mandatory because the effects of the impairments will be different depending on the Physical Layer characteristics of cables and loops.
  • common/differential mode injection.
Disturbers can be injected as part of the line as a common mode signal, or on one reference point in a differential mode on both tip and ring or only on A-wire and/or B-wire.

Physical Layer parameters are programmable in a virtually unlimited way using the Line Compiler (LCC) to make custom cables based on (sometimes) proprietary and specific information on the type of cables used in the network.  Parameters can be primary parameters (a.k.a. Resistance, Conductance, Capacitance, Inductance, or the physical parameters like length, diameter, temperature, etc.) or secondary parameters (a.k.a. electrical parameters Attenuation, Impedance and Delay).  If some parameters are unknown, it is possible to calculate them based on the Sparnex Instruments unique cable model that is the only true cable model in the world based on Physical Layer parameters.

All these parameters are fully programmable.  Ask for a demo or an expert from Sparnex Instruments.
